Management Team

Ward L. Setzer PE

President and CEO

 

Ward has over 40 years of experience in the commercial construction business. A graduate of North Carolina State University with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Ward worked for several quality construction companies throughout North Carolina before joining Security Building Company in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 1973. He worked with Security until 1990 before joining the management team of Trout & Riggs Construction Company. In 1991, he decided to open his own construction company and started Patriot Building Company. As well as running all aspects of the business, overseeing all Estimating and Project Management, Ward also manages several projects.

Rocky McDonald

Estimator / Project Manager

 

Rocky graduated from North Carolina State University in 1973.  He started work in construction and landscaping and later advanced to the truss industry where he worked for 15 years as an estimator, designer, sales representative and software trainer.

He then joined Weaver Cooke Const., LLC as an estimator for 3 years, then went to the Contractor Yard (Pro-Build) in Greensboro where he worked as a Commercial Sales Rep.

He later joined Sharpe Interiors where he worked as a sales rep. / estimator , before coming to Patriot Building Company in October of 2008.

Mike Spangler

Estimator / Project Superintendent

 

Mike started out in construction in high school, 1977 where he specialized in architectural drafting and design studies. While still in school he worked part time in the mechanical design department for SHS & Assoc, redesigning and updating of the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.

Later he joined Florida Power Corp. where he worked for several years updating the mechanical design drawings on the Crystal River Nuclear Power Plant.

After that he worked with several Architectural firms in  residential design before going to the field as a rough carpentry tech. From there he started a residential home inspection service that eventually led to a business in home repairs &            remodeling before joining Patriot Building Company in April of 2007.

Keith Kirkman

Project Coordinator /

Project Superintendent

 

Keith is Patriot’s senior field manager. Keith started with Ward literally days after Ward started Patriot.

Keith brings nearly 20 years of construction knowledge and experience along with a profound ability to communicate well with not only the field Superintendants, but the management offices of the clients as well.

Among his other duties, Keith coordinates materials, orders & deliveries keeping our projects as stream lined as they can possibly be.
